PERMIT APPLICATION

In accordance with Indiana Administrative Code 312 IAC 25-4-109, Gibson County Coal, LLC, 2579 W. Gibson Coal Road, PO Box 1269, Princeton, Indiana 47670 hereby gives public notice that it has filed an application with the Indiana Department of Natural Resources for a permit to conduct underground coal mining operations at the Gibson South Mine. The proposed permit area is located from approximately 1 mile southwest of Princeton to 1 mile northeast of Owensville, IN. The area is shown on the Owensville and Princeton, IN USGS 7.5 minute quadrangle maps. The permit application seeks the addition of 4662.0 acres to the approved shadow area for the following areas in Gibson County, Indiana:

In conjunction with the underground mining operations, it is occasionally necessary to install satellite facilities and affect the surface at locations above the underground operations. In accordance with 312 IAC 25-4-109(a)(6), this notice hereby informs the public that, although not currently proposed, activities associated with the mining operation may at some point disturb the surface within 100 feet of the outside right-of-way of the following sections of public roads. The disturbance may begin on the effective date of the permit or at some future date and continue for the duration of the mining and reclamation activities.

Surface disturbance may occur within 100 feet of the outside right-of-way of the following roads: State Road 65 from CR450S to 1½ miles north of CR450S; Old State Road SR65 (aka CR600W) from CR300S to Old Princeton Road; Old Princeton Road from CR350S to CR450S; South White Church Road from CR50S to CR250W; Southwest White Church Road from CR50S to CR230W;

CR50S from South White Church Road to CR350W; CR100S from CR200W to CR230W; CR200S from CR350W to CR450W; CR275S from CR425W to CR250S; CR300S from Old SR65 to CR550W and from CR425W east ¼ mile; CR350S from SR65 to CR700W and from Old Princeton Road to CR425W; CR400S from Old Princeton Road to CR350W; CR450S from Old Princeton Road to CR525W; CR200W from CR100S to CR150S; CR230W from Southwest White Church Rd to CR100S; CR250W from South White Church Rd south ¾ mile; CR325W from SR64 to CR50S; CR350W from ¾ mile north of CR400S to ½ mile south of CR400S and from SR64 to CR200S; CR425W from CR350S to CR275S; CR450W from CR350S south 1 mile; CR500W from CR400S south ½ mile; CR525W from Old Princeton Road north ¾ mile; and CR550W from CR300S to Old Princeton Road.

The public may view the application at the Princeton Public Library, 124 South Hart, Princeton, IN, and at the office of the Division of Reclamation in Jasonville, IN. Any written comments, objections, or requests for informal conferences on the contents of the application should be directed to Director, Division of Reclamation, IN Department of Natural Resources, 14619 W. State Road 48, Jasonville, IN 47438.

This notice will be published once per week for four consecutive weeks. Any comments, objections or requests for informal conferences must be filed with the Division of Reclamation within thirty (30) days after the last date of publication.
