Emergency crews responded to a vehicle that crashed into a brick house at the corner of Vine and Madison Street in Oakland City around 3 p.m. Wednesday afternoon. Oakland City Police Chief Alec Hensley confirmed the driver of the vehicle suffered a head injury and was transported to a hospital in Evansville. No one was home at the time of the wreck and no one else was injured. Hensley says the cause of the accident is under investigation. Oakland City Police Department, Gibson County Sheriff's Office, Oakland City Fire Department, Columbia Township Fire Department, Gibson County EMS and Francisco Police Department all responded to the call.
