PRINCETON — A mobile home fire early Saturday morning killed one person and severely burned two others.

Gibson County Coroner Misty Hoke confirmed that Christopher L. Mellette, 38, died from injuries sustained in the fire at the Sandy Acres mobile home park on Ash Street, Princeton. An autopsy is scheduled.

Hoke said two children were airlifted by Lifeflight helicopter to outside area hospitals for treatment of severe burns.

Princeton Police Sgt. Steve McNeece said the first 911 call came in around at 7:23 a.m.

Princeton Fire Territory Chief Mike Pflug said the fire is still under investigation.

The Indiana State Fire Marshal was on scene and crews worked to contain the fire for several hours.

Princeton Police Department, Gibson County EMS, Gibson County Sheriff’s Office, Princeton Fire Territory, Gibson County Coroner were on the scene.
