PRINCETON — This would have been 14-year-old Kaydence B. Hyneman's first week as a freshman at Princeton Community High School, but the Hazleton teen passed away July 21 at Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis, following a June 18 cancer diagnosis.

Friends are celebrating her memory at a benefit planned Saturday at Princeton's Lafayette Park to help the family defray travel, medical and funeral expenses.

The Kourage For Kaydence event includes a car, truck and bike show, a bake sale, silent auction, concessions and live music from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Three Nails Project, Crosby Construction and Klinkers are providing concessions.

Car show registration begins at 2 p.m., with awards given at 3 p.m.

Music includes performances from New Life Nazarene Church praise band, The NURDZ, TYL, SydWynder and Descent. Organizers say there's a special appearance by The Boom Squad percussion group from Evansville.

For more information about volunteering or donating items for the silent auction, phone Kathy Ritcheson at 812-881-0199, Jamie Burns at 812-582-3637 or Lisa Ritcheson at 812-677-8401.
