HAUBSTADT — A Fort Branch teen was discovered dead at the scene of a one-car crash at 7:30 p.m. Saturday on County Road 1000 South at County Road 400 West.

According to an accident report released by the Gibson County Sheriff's Office Tuesday, investigation revealed the driver, Camaron S. Beshears, 19, Owensville, sustained a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.

The report says police believe the 1991 Chevrolet pickup, registered to Christian Marsh of Owensville, was eastbound on CR 1000 South approaching CR400 West when it traveled straight through the T-intersection of the gravel roads and hit an embankment. there was damage to the front of the truck and its windshield.

Deputy U.B. Smith's report notes that the vehicle did not have license plates and Beshears did not have a driver's license. Alcohol lab results are pending, but the report lists alcohol and unsafe speed as contributing factors to the crash.
