OAKLAND CITY — David F. Davis, 57, of Oakland City, entered rest Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2017 at his home.

He was born Feb. 23,1959 in Warren, Ohio, to Vernon R. and Lucille (Hopkins) Davis.

David was preceded in death by his father Vernon Davis, grandparents Jolly and Lena Davis, Lorean and Ray Hopkins and niece Angela Eads.

He attended Wood Memorial High School and served in the United States Marine Corps from 1979-1983. He was a member of First General Baptist Church and Oakland City American Legion Post 256. He also had worked for Elmer Buchta Trucking. Had a great love for camping, hunting, fishing, traveling and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years Tammy (Mason) Davis; children Jimmy R.(Falon), Johnathan D. (Sarah W.) and Jeffrey V. (Sara H.) Davis, his mother Lucille Davis all of Oakland City; sister Teresa Davis of Indianapolis; grandchildren Peyton, Conner and Easton Davis.

Service is at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, 2017 at Lamb-Basham Memorial Chapel with burial in Forsythe Cemetery, Rev. Alec Hensley officiating. Visitation is from 9 a.m. to service time Saturday.
