PRINCETON — Elzie Eugene “Gene” Mason, passed away Thursday, Feb. 8, 2018 at Linda E. White Hospice House in Evansville.

Gene was born Aug. 12, 1938, the second of nine children born to Billie and Anna Mason of Princeton.

After attending Francisco High School, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He was employed by Chrysler Corporation in Indianapolis and Detroit and upon retirement, returned to Princeton, where he resided for the past 20 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Barbara Cramer; brothers, Billy Joe, Phillip and Donnie.

His survivors include sons, Tony Mason (Angie) of Terre Haute and Barry Mason of Indianapolis; grandsons, Brandon and Steven; brothers, Fred of Evansville, Gary of Maxwell, Mark and Stan of Greenwood; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral service is at noon Saturday, Feb. 17, 2018 at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton, officiated by Rev. Andrew Johnson. There will be no burial. Military rites performed by Retired Military Veterans. Visitation is from 10 a.m. until the hour of service Saturday at the funeral home.
