OWENSVILLE — Frederick Douglas, 83, of Owensville passed away at home Feb. 24, 2018, surrounded by his family.

He was born Dec. 17, 1934, in Owensville to Lloyd R. and Emma Frances (Ready) Douglas. Frederick was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed farming, playing cards, watching basketball, being active in his grandchildren’s activities, cattle showing, and spending time at the local cafés (Owensville Café and Pat’s place). He was a member of Harness Racing Association, the Masonic lodge and past member of Gibson County fair board. He was known for feeding the horses at the farm and the track.

Frederick is survived by his wife of 60 years, Sharon Douglas; brother David (Margaret) Douglas; children Mick Douglas, Dixie (Bill) Dickerson, and John (Becky) Douglas; grandchildren Deidra Dickerson, Gunner Douglas, and Kix Douglas; aunt Dorothy Laib; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Peggy J. Peach and infant brother Billy Ray Douglas.

Funeral service is at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2018 at Holders Funeral Home with visitation Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. and from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Wednesday.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Heart to Heart Hospice or a charity of your choice.
