PRINCETON -- Jerry W. Hunt, 81, of Princeton, passed away Thursday, Feb. 22, 2018, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes. He was born on April 28, 1936, in Princeton, IN to Jesse and Magdalene (Crandall) Hunt. He was a tool & die maker for Potter & Brumfield/Siemens for 38 ½ years. He was a former member of the United Presbyterian Church and a current member of Bethel Memorial Church in Princeton. He was a 25-year member and a former Worshipful Master of the Masonic Lodge in Princeton. He was a former Worthy Patron of Eastern Star in Princeton and Ft. Branch. He was an Eagle Scout and a Scout Master of Boy Scout troop #232. Jerry was a former member of the Gideon's. He enjoyed raising cattle and was an avid lover of camping.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Ann (Perlow) Hunt; two sons, Bob Hunt (Susan L.) of Freelandville, and Mike (Debbie) Hunt of Bowling Green, Ky.; two daughters, Brenda Simanski of Jupiter, Fla. and Susan H. Hunt of Princeton; six grandchildren, Julia (Dave) Estabrook of Ft. Wayne, Amanda (Ryan) Rindler of Columbus, Ohio, Tristan Marx and Ashlynn Marx of Freelandville, Michelle (Jesse) Anderson of Louisville, Ky. and Jason Hunt of Louisville, Ky.; six great-grandchildren, Elise, George, Audra, Clara, Cyrus and Ben; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jim Hunt; sister, Mary Lou Carpenter; and son-in-law, Phil Simanski.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 27, at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton, officiated by Pastor Kevin Wilson. Burial will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery in Princeton. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Colvin Funeral Home. There will be a Masonic memorial service on Monday evening at 7 p.m.
