GEORGETOWN, Texas — John “Jack” S. Maidlow, Jr., 97, of Georgetown, Texas, died Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2017.

He was born in Evansville May 20, 1920, to John Spencer and Wilma Clare Maidlow. His family founded and operated Maidlow's Package Store in Princeton. He married Marilyn Ruth Cotner in Mount Carmel, Illinois, on Sept. 1, 1945. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps and was awarded the Bronze Star and patent rights for technical work done. He worked for Potter Brumfield in Princeton and later with IBM at plants in New York, Kentucky and Texas.

He was preceded in death by his wives Marilyn Maidlow and Joan “Jody” Maidlow and daughter Suzanne Jeter.

Survivors include sons John Maidlow of Austin, Texas and Jeff (Paulette) Maidlow of Georgetown, Texas; five grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and extended family and friends.

Visitation is from 9-11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 7, at Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home in Georgetown. Funeral service is at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
