EVANSVILLE — Thomas Wayne Shanks, 76, of Evansville, passed away on Wednesday, October 3, 2018, at the Linda E. White Hospice House in Evansville.

Thomas was born in Princeton on October 9, 1941, to Alva Thomas and Golda (Stiles) Shanks.

Thomas was a loving father. He served in the United States Army. He worked in the water department and as a paper cutter.

He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings; Alva M. Shanks, Jerry Shanks, Donna Jean Singleton, and Pamela Ward.

Thomas is survived by his daughter, Lisa Shanks Greubel and her husband, Randall of Patoka; grandson, Bryan (Tina Arnold) Gayer of Daytona Beach, Florida; great-grandson, Maddox Burke; siblings, Sharon Garrett of Princeton; Linda (J.R. Payne) Cuzort of Owensboro, Kentucky; Patricia House of Evansville; David Michael Shanks of Evansville, Jan Shanks of Princeton; Van Shanks of Patoka; sister-in-law, Betty Shanks of Princeton; several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life for Thomas will be from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Saturday, October 13, 2018, at the American Legion Post 25, 501 West Broadway Street, Princeton, Indiana 47670.
