Tori Matthews dribbles earlier this season against the Wood Memorial High School Lady Trojans on the road. On Tuesday, Matthews and her teammates found themselves on the wrong side of a 7-0 score against the Washington Hatchets in sectional play.

The Princeton Community High School Lady Tiger girls soccer team traveled to Jasper on Tuesday night to open up sectional play against the Lady Hatchets of Washington High School.

Despite a strong start, the Lady Tigers couldn't hang on and saw their season end with a 7-0 loss.

"We started off strong and had a few unlucky touches that went to their girls that threw us off," said Lady Tigers head coach Dave Dixon. "We tried to do what we wanted to, it just didn't work out like we thought it was going to."

The Lady Hatchets jumped out to a 3-0 lead after the first half and found the back of the net four more times in the second half for the 7-0 final.

"I think a lot of our players learned a lot," Dixon said about the 2017 campaign. "We learned how to play together as a team.

"We're going to work and try and get stronger for next year."
