The Lady Oaks dropped to 4-10 on the season, falling short against Brescia University, losing by the final score of 81-72.
Alicia Wilson and Emma Lander each scored 18 points, leading the Lady Oaks in scoring, followed closely by Aricka Prentice, who notched 17 counters. Emily Pitkin came up with four points, while grabbing a game high eight rebounds and blocking three shots. Wilson handed out a game best six assists, one more than Lexi Payne's five.
Kelsey Kirkpatrick and Catherine Dunn each put up 17 points for the Bearcats, followed by 16 from Le'Onzerrae Grubbs. Cassidy Moss came off the bench to score 10, as Dunn led the team in rebounds, with seven, and Kirkpatrick paced Brescia with five assists.
For the game, OCU shot 29-59 (49.2%) from the field, including 5-17 (29.4%) from beyond the three point line. The Bearcats went 25-59 (42.4%), knocking down 7-26 (26.9%) from long range. The Oaks connected on 9-12 (75.0%) from the charity stripe, compared to Brescia's 24-26 (92.3%).
The Lady Oaks were outrebounded 36-32 in the game, including 12-9 on the offensive glass. OCU handed out 16 assists, two more than the Bearcats, while losing the turnover battle 17-13.
Next up for the OCU women is a Saturday matchup against Wilberforce University, in the Johnson Center, tipping off at 1:00 pm.
