James, Warriors headed to national tournament

With three wins in the District P tournament, Princeton Community grad and Wabash Valley's women's basketball team advanced to the national tournament. James scored 10 points in the Warriors 97-43 win over Kaskaskia, and three points in the 98-75 win over Vincennes.

Wabash Valley earned the No. 6 overall seed in the tournament, and will play the winner of No. 11 Tallahassee and No. 22 Western Nebraska next Wednesday at 7 p.m. in Lubbock, Texas.

IU Women have WNIT assignment

Mount Carmel native Tyra Buss will get to play at least one more game in front of the Hoosier faithful at Skjodt Simon Assembly Hall. The Lady Hoosiers host the University of Tennessee - Martin Thursday night at 6 p.m in the first round of the WNIT.

With a win, IU will play the winner of Milwaukee and Northern Iowa later this weekend or early next week.

Ellis, Aces suffer losses at FGCU

The Evansville baseball team traveled to Florida Gulf Coast University this past weekend, and suffered a three-game sweep by scores of 10-0, 4-2, and 7-3.

Princeton Community grad David Ellis got the start on the bump in Sunday's finale, suffering the loss on just three innings pitched. Ellis gave up three runs on four hits, walking one and striking out another.
