Princeton Community tennis falls to Linton-Stockton

The Princeton Community High School boys tennis team lost 4-1 to Linton-Stockton on Tuesday.

At No. 3 singles Hunter McCandless won 6-0, 6-1. At No. 1 singles Lance Stuckey lost 6-1, 6-1. At No. 2 singles Jevin Huey lost 7-6 (5), 6-2.

“This is the best that we have played all week,” Tiger tennis coach Matt Moade said following the match. “We played good, they had six seniors but we played good.”

At No. 1 doubles Jarrett Scott and Collin Holzmeyer lost 6-1, 6-2. At No. 2 doubles Drew Morris and Kwin Sanders lost 6-1, 6-2.

Brady Kidd won the lone JV match for Princeton Community.

The Tigers will play at Southridge on Wednesday at 4:15. They will then travel to Evansville Reitz on Thursday and South Knox on Friday.

Gibson Southern boys tennis loses to Washington

Gibson Southern boys tennis team were dropped 4-1 by Washington on Tuesday afternoon.

At No. 1 singles Jarrett Klusmeier recorded the only win for the Titans when he bounced John Rook 6-3, 6-0. At No. 2 singles Zack Gray defeated Daniel Knapp 6-3, 6-1. At No. 3 singles Drake Harman topped Caleb Schoultz 6-0, 6-1.

At No. 1 doubles Gere and Kixmiller beat Graper and Birch 1-6, 7-5, 7-5. At No. 2 doubles Rice and Gray edged Harper and Simpson 7-6, (2), 6-2.

Wood Memorial soccer falls to Boonville

The Wood Memorial soccer team lost to Boonville Tuesday night, 6-0. The Trojans will be back in action on Thursday when they travel to White River Valley High School for a 5 p.m. start.

Princeton Community volleyball beats Pike Central

The Princeton Community Lady Tigers volleyball team defeated Pike Central in straight sets Tuesday to move their record to 7-7. They swept the Chargers 25-17, 25-14 and 25-22.

Pacing the Lady Tigers was Reaghan Page with three aces, 18 digs, and seven kills. Emma Sartore had nine kills and one block. Kennedy Clark had 15 digs, Mallory Smith had three aces and six kills, Emma Ault had eight kills, and Brooke Shafer had 25 assists.

Princeton is in action next on Thursday when they travel to Mt. Vernon for a 7:30 p.m. start.

Wood Memorial tennis downed by Southridge

The Wood Memorial boys tennis team lost to Southridge 4-1 on Tuesday night. In 1-singles Jalen Doerner (WM) lost to Carson Mundy 0-6, 3-6. In 2-singles Paxton Schwomeyer (WM) defeated Owen Kinker 6-3, 6-2. In 3-singles James Gates (WM) lost to Austin Barkley 3-6, 4-6.

In 1-doubles Ryan Memmer and Brayden Bell (WM) lost to Garrett Altmeyer and Michael Kapper 3-6, 4-6. In 2-doubles Isaiah Norrick and Alex Poe (WM) lost to Alex Beihl and Max Rasche 4-6, 1-6.

The Trojans play next Thursday night when they host South Knox at 4:30 p.m.
