Multiple sources confirmed Monday that Evansville Central High School football defensive coordinator Jared Maners and his wife Brittany, Central’s girls basketball head coach, are set to come to Princeton Community High School and fill the currently vacant head football coach and head girls basketball coach positions.

Lady Tigers head coach Charlie Mair retired from the girls basketball position following a 15-11 season with the team. Brittany Manners has recorded an 86-14 record at Central and won three straight IHSAA Class 4A sectional championships with the Lady Bears.

The Lady Bears went 23-2 in the 2016-17 season en route to a sectional championship before falling to Colombus North 66-50 in the Bedford North Lawrence regional semi-final.

Tigers football head coach Waylon Schenk departed following the 2016 football season for North Posey High School to fill their head coaching position as well as the athletic director role. Shenk sported a 28-24 record at PCHS and most recently went 6-4 overall and 4-2 in the Big 8 Conference.

Jared Maners helped lead the Bears to an 9-2 record, 6-1 in the Southern Indiana Football Conference, en route to a post season win over Owen Valley, 41-13, before falling in the sectional semis to Evansville Reitz, 34-7.

The North Gibson School Board have scheduled a meeting in special session on Wednesday at 5 p.m. in the PCHS library to announce the new football and girl’s basketball coach with a reception to follow in the PCHS cafeteria. Players, Parents, fans and supporters are able to attend.
