The Oakland City Good Start Committee sponsors the ninth annual Christmas parade at 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 9.

The parade route line up starts on College Street (General Baptist Church parking lot) at 5:15 p.m. They will proceed to Main Street (Highway 357) turn right, proceed down Main Street to Highway 64, turn right on High 64 and proceed to Wirth Park.

Trophies for the three best floats will be awarded at the community center, shortly after the parade.

There will be a meet and greet with Santa Claus, cookies and hot chocolate. Clowns and other activities for kids will be in the community center.

In case of a rain out the after-parade party will still be at 6:30 p.m. at the community center. For more information or float registration, call Parade Coordinator Larry Bottom at 812-677-0555 or Charlotte Gray at 812-644-7234.
