GIBSON COUNTY COMMISSIONERS

NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING

Notice is hereby given of the Gibson County Commissioners’ regularly scheduled meeting on September 15 at 5:30 p.m. at the North Annex meeting room located at 225 N. Hart Street, Princeton, IN 47670. Out of an abundance of caution due to threatened litigation, and pursuant to IC 36-7-4-606(b)(1), the Commissioners at this meeting will again hold a vote on the adoption, rejection, or amendment of the proposed Gibson County Comprehensive Land Use Planning (Zoning) Ordinance (“Plan Ordinance”), which was unanimously certified by the Gibson County Advisory Plan Commission (“APC”) on August 12, 2020. The Commissioners may determine based upon:

(1) Public testimony regarding the Plan Ordinance received before the Commissioners at its public meeting held on August 18, 2020;

(2) The APC’s unanimous decision to certify the Plan Ordinance;

(3) The lengthy and considerable number of public hearings prior held by the APC over the course of years in which broad public testimony regarding the Plan Ordinance was previously received and entered into the public record; and

(4) Concerns expressed incurring any added further costs, and other reasons – that no further hearings are

necessary pursuant to IC 36-7-4-606(b)(2) before again voting to

adopt, reject, or amend the Plan

Ordinance at this meeting.

In response to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, this public meeting shall be held in accordance with applicable government mandates and pursuant to the recommendations of the Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Please take note that the number of persons that may attend this public meeting in person may be limited depending on Executive Orders addressing the COVID-19 situation in effect now or later issued by Governor Holcomb. Attendees may be subject to a health screening and may be required to observe physical distancing and other well-established CDC and other sanitation measures inside the venue, including, but not limited to, wearing a mask.
