• Voice of Democracy — Open to high school students in grades 9 through 12 enrolled in a public, private or parochial high school or home study program. Students must write and record a three to five minute essay on the theme of “Is This the Country the Founders Envisioned?”. Entry deadline is Oct. 31.
• Patriot’s Pen — Open to middle school students in grades 6 through 8 enrolled in public, private or parochial school or home study program. Students must write a 300-to-400-word typed essay on the theme of “What is Patriotism to Me?” Entry deadline is Oct. 31.
• Patriotic Art — Open to high school students in grades 9 through 12 enrolled in a public, private or parochial high school or home school program. Students may enter either a two-dimensional or three-dimensional original artwork that displays their idea of patriotism. Entry deadline is March 31, 2021
• Teacher of the Year — Open to teachers at the elementary, junior high, and high school levels teaching at least half of the school day in a classroom environment. Teachers who promote civic responsibility, flag etiquette, and patriotism are prime candidates for the award. To nominate a teacher, submit an essay in 350 words or less to describe why the teacher is deserving of the award thru their innovative teaching and resource development methods. National winners will be given $1,000 for their professional development expenses as well as $1,000 for his/her school. Entry deadline is Oct. 31.
