PRINCETON — The city's annual Christmas parade steps off at 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, themed "A Storybook Christmas."

The event is seeking entries, volunteers and sponsors for the event, which features trophies for the top seven entries.

Sponsorships of $100 or greater will be acknowledged during the parade, on social media and on parade trophies. Sponsorships of less than $100 will be acknowledged during the parade. Sponsorship checks should be made payable to Gibson County Visitors and Tourism Commission.

Parade committee members ask that entries not feature Santa, he arrives at the end of the parade.

Floats, vehicles and walking units can enter the parade for free by Nov. 16 by mailing Gibson County Visitors and Tourism Bureau, 207 W. Broadway, Princeton IN 47670, by emailing or faxing forms to 812-385-0545. Contact Kelly Scott at 812-385-0999 for more information.

Organizers are also offering the opportunity for groups to sell refreshments (hot chocolate, cookies, popcorn, etc.) during the parade. Contact the tourism bureau for details.

Anyone interested in volunteering to help with the parade can also contact the tourism bureau office.

The lineup for the parade begins at 3 p.m. In the event of inclimate weather, the alternate date is Dec. 14.
