PRINCETON — A warrant was issued in Gibson Circuit Court Thursday for the arrest of a Fort Branch man charged with rape, child molestation, child solicitation and sexual misconduct involving several juveniles.
According to information filed Wednesday in Gibson Circuit Court by Gibson County Prosecutor Michael Cochren, Joshua J. Miller, 22, Fort Branch, is charged with level 3 felony counts of rape and child molesting, level 4 felony counts of child solicitation and sexual misconduct with a minor and a level 5 felony count of child solicitation.
Gibson County Sheriff's Office Detective Sgt. Roger Ballard investigated a report of alleged sexual abuse allegation from Indiana Department of Child Services Aug. 26 and interviewed a girl who described sexual conduct with Miller in 2018 when she was 15 and he was 21.
Ballard's affidavit of probable cause for seeking the charges reports Miller made requests for sex by Snapchat and Instagram and would travel to meet the girl. The affidavit says Ballard also interviewed Miller, who admitted to having sex with the girl more than once in 2018.
The affidavit says Ballard interviewed a second juvenile who told him that Miller forced her to have sex with him when she was 13 and Miller was 20.
Ballard reported that when he interviewed Miller, Miller admitted to having sex with the second juvenile in the presence of a third juvenile.
On Aug. 29, Ballard interviewed a fourth juvenile who told him, according to the affidavit, that Miller solicited sexual conduct in July from her by Instagram when she was 15 and he was 21.
