PRINCETON — Police investigated an accident involving a coal truck at U.S. 41 and County Road 100 North Wednesday around 7 p.m. One person was transported to a local emergency room for treatment.

Witnesses told deputies a southbound white 2016 Chevrolet minivan ran the red light at CR 100 N and U.S. 41. The minivan was driven by Toni Shelton, 25, of Sumner, Illinois.

Shelton reported head and wrist pain and was transported to Evansville for treatment.

Shelton's minivan struck a westbound semi hauling coal. The semi was driven by Jeffrey Yeley, 43, of Oakland City.

A small fire occurring after the collision was extinguished by Yeley and a passerby.

The roadway was blocked more than two hours for cleanup. Sully's Towing and Recovery cleaned up a diesel fuel spill caused by the wreck.
