PRINCETON — A North Gibson School Corporation employee is on paid administrative leave while police investigate allegations of misconduct.

NGSC issued a statement confirming that the employee, who was not named, was placed on paid leave Monday "pending a comprehensive investigation of the allegations."

Princeton Police Chief Derek McGraw said Monday that he could not comment on an active investigation.

According to the statement issued by the school district, school officials were notified Friday of allegations of misconduct and contacted local authorities, as well as conducting the school's own preliminary investigation of the allegations.

"Because this is a personnel matter, North Gibson cannot and will not share specific information regarding this employee," the statement noted, adding: "North Gibson is working cooperatively with local authorities as they investigate these allegations. The safety and well-being of North Gibson students is paramount to the Board of School Trustees, and all appropriate action will be taken to ensure the safety of all North Gibson students."
