OAKLAND CITY — Tickets are available for the Oakland City University athletic auction, scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 28, on the Johnson Center gymnasium court.

Tickets cost $25 each. Reservations may be made by telephoning OCU athletic department administrative assistant Ashley Engler at (812) 749-1264.

Acting co-athletic director T. Ray Fletcher said Monday is the last day reservations can be made, because a count must be given to the Oakland City-based John’s Smokin’ Bar-B-Que.

Doors will open at 3:45 p.m. The silent auction, split into four sections, will start at 4 p.m., with sections closing at 5 p.m., 5:15 p.m., 5:30 p.m. and 5:45 p.m. The live auction will follow the 6 p.m. catered dinner.

Fletcher said live auction items include autographed pictures of Peyton Manning, Stan Musial, Musial and Ted Williams together, and Willie Mays and Ernie Banks pictured together. A Victoria National golf outing for four will also be up for bidding.

Also featured are a Larry Bird autographed jersey, plus an autographed picture of Brandi Chastain, who kicked the goal that gave United States victory in the first Women’s World Cup Soccer Championships.

Fletcher said he hopes to make a portion of the live auction available for Internet bidding later this week.
