Charged with manslaughter

Lance Marley

PRINCETON—A Princeton man was taken into custody Sunday morning following the death of a woman in the 300 block of South 4th Street.

Princeton City Police Chief Derek McGraw confirmed that 26-year-old Lance Marley has been charged with voluntary manslaughter in the death of his girlfriend, Lindsey Fleck.

Princeton police were dispatched to the house following a 9-1-1 telephone call from a neighbor reporting a domestic dispute.

McGraw said officers arrived at the scene and arrested Marley as medical attention was immediately given to the victim. Fleck was taken to Gibson General Hospital; it is not known whether she had died at the scene.

McGraw said the couple had also lived in Vincennes previously. McGraw added he couldn't yet divulge the cause of Fleck's death.

McGraw said Marley was placed on a 48-hour hold at Gibson County Jail.

A 2 p.m. probable cause hearing is scheduled Monday in Gibson Superior Court.

McGraw said he expects charges against Marley to be enhanced, leaving the door open to a possible murder charge.

Scanner traffic just after midnight included a request to contact both the Gibson County coroner and prosecutor’s offices; as well as someone had been placed in custody and an evidence bag had been used at a crime scene.
