GIBSON COUNTY — A New Jersey man was arrested Saturday after Gibson County Central Dispatch received a report of a fight at the Pilot Travel Center located at 1042 E. Warrenton Road near Haubstadt.

Officers from the Gibson County Sheriff’s Office, Fort Branch Police Department, and Haubstadt Police Department were dispatched and once on scene, separated all parties involved in the incident.

A news release from the sheriff’s office says Deputy Brian Naas began an investigation into the fight allegation, during which evidence showed 42-year-old Parwinder Kang of Mt. Holley, New Jersey beat another individual.

Police said Kang was in an extreme state of intoxication and was verbally and physically non-compliant with officers during the investigation.

Kang was booked into the Gibson County Jail on charges of battery, public intoxication, resisting law enforcement, and battery on a law enforcement officer.
