OAKLAND CITY — Charles W. Sandefur Jr., 83, of Oakland City, died Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2021, at Good Samaritan Nursing Home.

He was born on Jan. 26, 1937, in Evansville, to Charles W. and Elizabeth (Weightman) Sandefur.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother Larry Sandefur; a sister Joyce Curtis. He was an Army veteran serving during Korean War and was member of Oakland City American Legion Post 256 and Oakland City Eagles.

He is survived by a sons; Charles (Melody) Sandefur III of Princeton, Mark (Julie) Weightman of Oakland City, and John Sandefur of Wyoming; daughters Cindy (Rick) Carl of Evansville, and Anna Hoye of Colorado; grandchildren; and great- grandchildren.

Private graveside will be held on Monday at Somerville Cemetery, with Military honors. Lamb-Basham Memorial Chapel is honored to assist Charles’s family. Family and friends may send messages of comfort to www.lambbahsam.com.
