PRINCETON — Clara M. Adamson, 97, of Princeton, formerly of Fort Branch, went to be with the Lord Jan. 17, 2020, at home surrounded by her family.

She was born in Owensville, April 27, 1922, to Fred Woods and Edna Tipton Woods.

Clara graduated from Haubstadt High School in 1940 then shortly after married the love of her life, John Lester Adamson. She retired from Deaconess Hospital as a nurse assistant after 15 years of service. Clara enjoyed crocheting, embroidering quilts and crossword puzzles. She loved spending time with family and friends, especially running around with her lady friends after church on Sunday. Clara was a member of Old Union Christian Church in Poseyville.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband of 54 years, John Lester Adamson; son James Lester; great-grandson Justin Adamson; brothers Leon, Gerald and Myron Woods; three stepbrothers and a stepsister.

Clara is survived by her children, Charles (Helen) Adamson of Haubstadt, Ron (Judy) Adamson of Fort Branch, Tom (Brenda) Adamson of Henderson, Kentucky, Marcia (Steve) Hensley of Princeton, and Larry (Marilyn) Adamson of Fort Branch; grandchildren Jeff (Carrie), Eric, Jon of Haubstadt, Ray (Manda), Jessica (Travis) Sims of Evansville, Matt (Amanda) of Bowling Green, Kentucky, Caleb (Erin) of Newburgh, Angela Walker, Chris (Rachel), Amy Adamson of Fort Branch, Clint (Heather), Mark Hensley of Princeton, and Jason (Anisha) of Blairsville; 19 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

The family thanks Brandy and Deb from Heart to Heart Hospice for their compassionate care.

Holders Funeral Home is honored and privileged to be entrusted with the care of Mrs. Adamson. Visitation is Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2020, at Holders Funeral Home from 3 to 7 p.m. Funeral will be 10 a.m. Wednesday with interment at Mt. Mariah Cemetery.
