PRINCETON — Gwendolyn “Aunt Sue” Jenkins, 68, of Princeton, passed away Thursday, April 2, 2020 at Gibson General Hospital in Princeton.

She was born Oct. 14, 1951 in Princeton to James Arthur and Bertha Emma (Greene) Jenkins, and had lived in Princeton since moving back in 1960 from Indianapolis.

She retired in 1998 after working 12 years at Hansen Mfg. Co. in Princeton. She was a longtime member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church in Princeton. Sue was known for her daily “good morning” texts to everyone, was a friend to everyone, and will be missed by all who knew her.

The Morning Sun

The morning sun brings about new hope for today. It is a promise that troubles are washed away with yesterday. Today is a brand new day so make the most of it. Live as if it were your last and enjoy every minute. For every single day is a gift from God up in heaven, waste it, and you’ll only be pleasing the devil. Good Morning! - poem by

Sue is survived by two brothers, Perry L. Jenkins (Elizabeth) of Princeton and Michael L. Jenkins (Mary Jo) of Aurora, North Carolina; and also, a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother, Sylvia Hardiman, Jacquelyn Young and James A. Jenkins.

A private graveside service and burial is planned at Oak Hill Cemetery in Patoka, with Rev. Rodney D. Coffer Sr. officiating. Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton has been entrusted with the arrangements.

You may leave and message of sympathy or light a memorial candle at Colvin Funeral Home is honored to serve the Jenkins family!
