EVANSVILLE — Jimmie Riley, 79, of Evansville, passed away Friday, July 23, 2021 at St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville.

He was born Sept. 26, 1941 to Donald Riley and Beulah (Pavey) Whitehead, and was born and raised in the Princeton area. He moved to New Mexico when his father was working in the pot ash mines and moved back to the area in the 1960s. He married Connie Lane March 22, 1961 and they’ve been blessed with more than 60 years together. Jimmy worked as a coal miner for more than 30 years and will be greatly missed.

Jimmie is survived by his wife, Connie Riley; children, Cody Riley (Susan), Deena Riley, Michael Riley (Jenna), and Nate Riley; grandchildren, Hunter, Chase, Evan, Cailin, Heaven, Jadon, and Makenna; two great-grandchildren; siblings, Karen, Rita, Darla, Ann, Joe, and Dee; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father; mother; stepfather, “Dick” Richard Whitehead; and brothers, Rick Whitehead and Larry Whitehead.

No services will be held at this time.
