OAKLAND CITY — Allen Steve Potter, 77, of Oakland City, entered rest on Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2019, at Good Samaritan Home in Oakland City.

He was born on June 9, 1942, in Maryville, Indiana to John Raymond and Luetta (Allen) Potter.

Steve retired from Whirlpool Corporation after 39 years and a member of Local 808. Also, was a member of N.R.A. and Southern Indiana Gun Collectors.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Jeannine (Barr) Potter; son Stephen Potter of Winslow; daughters Beth Ann Lee of Petersburg, Susan Hornby of Oakland City, and Amy Smith of Bloomington; sisters Sylvia Stone of Oakland City, and Vera Hurst of Princeton; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 25, 2019, at Lamb-Basham Memorial Chapel with burial in Blackfoot Cemetery. Rev. Brad Keenan and Colton Potter will be officiating. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Saturday and from 1 p.m. until service on Sunday at the chapel.
