HAZLETON — Dan Ellerman, 68, of Hazleton, passed away Monday, Nov. 11, 2019, at Kindred Hospital Indianapolis North.

He was born March 12, 1951, in Vincennes to the late Enos and Betty (Burkhart) Ellerman. Dan was a graduate of South Knox High School and a retired farmer. He had resided in the Hazleton community for the past 45 years, coming from Knox County.

Dan loved playing poker, the outdoors, his beagles, hunting and fishing, but most especially his grandkids.

Dan is survived by his wife of 48 years, Karen Ellerman of Hazleton; a daughter and son-in-law, Dannica and Bryan Wehlage of Indianapolis; two grandchildren, Rarity and Gibson Wehlage; three siblings, David Ellerman of Decker, Penny Beard (Scott) of Sullivan and Brian Ellerman (Jan) of Washington, Indiana; also, several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. CST Thursday, Nov. 14, 2019, at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton, with Pastor Nathan P. Rastl officiating. There will be no visitation. Colvin Funeral Home is honored to serve the Ellerman family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Gibson County Animal Services, P.O. Box 474, Princeton, IN 47670. Envelopes will also be available at Colvin’s. You may leave a message of sympathy or light a candle in memory of Dan at www.colvinfuneralhome.com.
