PRINCETON — Gerald W. Butts, 77, of Princeton, passed away Sunday, Nov. 24, 2019, at Transcendent Healthcare of Owensville.

He was born May 7, 1942, to parents, William “Bill” Butts and Elsie (Tyree) Gieseke. He married Roberta Gunselman on May 25, 1968, and they were blessed with 51 years together.

He was employed at Emge Packing Company out of high school then began employment at Whirlpool while he served his apprenticeship to become a millwright. He worked at Whirlpool for 38 and a half years until retirement. He was a farmer and enjoyed time with family and friends. He was a member of the AFL-CIO Industrial Union Council and Local 808.

Gerald is survived by his wife, Roberta Butts; children, Tina Bowen (Brad), Kristy Beck (David), and Lisa Butts; and grandchild, Zephaniah Bowen.

He was preceded in death by his parents; infant brother, Charles E. Butts; and sister, Janie Mae Butts.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 30, 2019, at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton with Bob O'Nines officiating. Burial will follow at Columbia White Church Cemetery in Princeton.

A visitation will be held from 4 until 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 29, 2019, at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton.

For those who wish, memorial contributions may be given to the Alzheimer’s Association. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. You may leave a message of sympathy or light a candle in memory of Gerald at Colvin Funeral Home is honored to serve the Butts family.
