WHEELING — On Sunday, Aug. 18, 2019, surrounded by his family, Jerry Paul Knight passed away at the age of 76.

Jerry was born Dec. 18, 1942, in Wheeling, Indiana to Paul and Burneace (Myrick) Knight.

He raised three children, two sons Mark Richard, and one daughter Glenda. He voluntarily served in the United State Navy from 1965 to 1968. He spent most of his life working for Norfolk Southern Railroad, where he took early seniority out and retired from Farbest Foods. He was a proud lifetime member of the American Legion Post 115 and VFW. Jerry loved his kids, the sea and felt most at home sitting on the picnic table at Miller’s field drinking his beer.

Jerry was proceeded in death by his father, Paul Knight, his mother Burneace (Myrick) Knight.

He is survived by his three children Mark (Becky) Pride, Richard (Pride) Knight, Glenda (Tom) Mills; three grandsons Joshua Pride, Trevor Fiscus, Colton White; three great-granddaughters Trinity, Aubrey, Addelynn; seven brothers and sisters, Judy (Mike) Williams, Bill (Dianne) Knight, Linda (Tom) Kirby, Jane (Earl) Meece, Floyd (Carla) Knight, Jim Knight, Janice Bennett; twenty nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Jerry at a later date.
