PRINCETON — Lavada Grace Cundiff, 95, of Princeton, passed away Thursday, Jan. 19, 2023 at Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Oakland City.

She was born Aug. 21, 1927 to Dan D. Sloan and Roda E. (Lynch) Sloan and married Arlis Cundiff in 1949. She worked at Hansen Corporation for over 30 years and was a member of First Baptist Church in Princeton. Lavada taught her family the value of a good work ethic and was a wonderful cook. She enjoyed reading, the beauty of nature, and going for drives with her husband. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandkids and doing puzzles with her great-grandkids. She was dearly loved and will be missed by so many.

Lavada is survived by her husband of 74 years, Arlis Cundiff; grandson, Chad Cundiff (Lisa); granddaughter, Kristen Dicus (Nick); great-grandchildren, Cameron and Colton Cundiff, Kaylie and Chloe Dicus, and Isaac Fair; several nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews; and other family members also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Daniel Cundiff in 2011; brothers, Charles, Bill, and Harry; sisters, Clair, Lena May, and Christine; and two infant brothers.

Funeral service is at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 25, at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton, officiated by Pastor Jim Saunders. Interment follows at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Princeton. Visitation is Tuesday from 4 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
