TERRE HAUTE, Ind. — Yvonne L. Basinger, 73, of Terre Haute, Indiana passed away Jan. 10, 2020, in Evansville.

She was born June 17, 1946, in Gibson County to Hershel and Rachel (Shain) Fetcher.

Yvonne graduated from North Posey High School in 1964. She retired from Whirlpool after 30+ years. Yvonne was a member of Owensville First Christian Church and past union rep for Local 808. She enjoyed line dancing in her early years. Yvonne was an avid IU basketball fan and tried not to miss seeing a game. She loved to cook for her grandsons. Yvonne had a quirky sense of humor and was not afraid to speak her mind. She loved spending time with people, especially her family and friends.

Yvonne was preceded in death by her parents; infant sister Shirley; and brother Donnis Fetcher.

She is survived by her children James Basinger Jr. and Shelly (Chad) Chamberlain; grandchildren Jessica (Caleb) Reece of Chandler, Oklahoma. Kody (Ashley) Basinger of Fayetteville, North Carolina, JT and Dawson Basinger of Terre Haute, Emma Chamberlain of Evansville, Alli and Tyler Chamberlain of Owensville; five great-grandchildren; siblings Linda Hurt, Gene Fetcher, and David Fetcher.

Holders Funeral Home is honored and privileged to be entrusted with the care of Mrs. Basinger. Visitation will be Thursday, Jan. 16, 2020, at Owensville First Christian Church 4680 W. State Hwy 168 from 2 - 6 p.m. with funeral at 6 p.m. Interment will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery at a later date.
