HAUBSTADT — Walter Alan Miller, 80, of Haubstadt, Indiana, peacefully joined his wife, Karen, on Nov. 16, 2021.

Walt was born April 22, 1944, in Evansville, to his parents Walter and Laura (Heil). He graduated from Mt. Vernon High School where he met his wife of 43 years, Karen (Kramer), who passed away in 2006.

Walt is survived by his children, Stanley (Tommi) of Haubstadt, Scott of Princeton, and Jim (Kristen) of Evansville, and three grandchildren, Samantha Miller (Joe), William Devers, and Dawn Miller.

Walt was a socially active man who was deeply involved in the Ace of Clubs Car Club for many years and made many long-term friendships which became his extended family. He enjoyed driving to cruise-ins, and his family and friends will always remember him as being an avid Mopar enthusiast and his hatred for “junk Chevies.”

Graveside funeral service is at 3 p.m. Monday, Nov. 22 at Salem United Church of Christ in Evansville.

Visitation is from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 21 at Wade Funeral Home in Haubstadt, and private family member visitation is from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

All are welcome to attend and celebrate Walt’s life.

The family thanks the staff at St. Vincent’s/Ascension and Heart to Heart Hospice for the wonderful care provided.

Memorial contributions can be made in his memory to Salem United Church of Christ, 11325 Lower Mount Vernon Road, Evansville, Indiana 47712.
