Solar proposals

Concerning solar farm proposals, in an effort to help maintain the current level of tax levy, to help continue the present level of services in county government and as an advantage to all tax payers, present and future, please consider the following.

The best thing that can happen is to get all legal matters out of the way, start construction immediately and finished in a reasonable time frame, getting both on the tax roll, at or near the same time, while being sure that all property rights are respected.

This would get the the full amount of $420 million on the personal property tax base as quickly as possible and allow a depreciation schedule to be in place in a timely manner

This will be advantageous for present personal property tax payers along with present and future investors.

In other words, finish the construction, assess the values, establish a depreciation schedule, and hopefully, place both on personal property tax rolls at or near the same time, in preparation for tax collection.
