PRINCETON — He's the Claus with a Cause, and he's ready to take it up starting Friday evening.

Charles Stover hopes to raise enough money through donations to provide Christmas needs for 12 families this holiday season.

Stover is "Santa With a Cause," more commonly called "Glendale Santa."

His house on West Glendale Street is decked out with Christmas decorations, and his Santa House is open for visiting with youngsters from 6-9 p.m. nightly starting Friday, until Dec. 22. Stover will also be at The Palace Cafe's Montgomery Room from 1-3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 8, Dec. 14 and from 1-3 p.m. Dec. 21-22. He'll be at Phillips Grocery in Princeton from 9-11 a.m. Dec. 14.

Stover said he has a donation jar at his hut. He'll have a drawing Dec. 21 to decide how to spend the donations on each family. He said he raised $6,000 last year, and this year he hopes to collect enough donations to spent $500 per family.

In addition to the donation jar, anyone who wants to help contribute to the cause can make a donation at Fifth Third Bank to Santa With A Cause, A/K/A Glendale Santa.

Stover said he's also available for Christmas parties. For more information about how to contribute to his causes, phone him at 618-838-1194.
