PCMS boys sweep Wood Memorial

Thanks to a last second shot, the Princeton Community Middle School boys’ basketball teams picked up a pair of wins Monday night against Wood Memorial.

Reggie McIntyre drilled a 3-pointer in the closing seconds as the PCMS eighth graders won a thrilling 37-36 game.

McInytre finished with eight points in the game.

The Tigers were led by Matthew McDaniel’s 15 points.

Christian Schafer added eight points while Reginald McIntyre (5) and Eli Kruse (1) rounded out the scoring.

In the seventh-grade game, the Tigers led 14-4 after the first period and carried a commanding 29-6 lead into the half en route to a 44-28 win over the Trojans.

Nine different players scored for the Tigers, led by Ryne Wilhite’s nine points.

Jared Dunkel and Jace Jenkins added eight points apiece, while Aidan Lashbrook registered five points in the win.

Information for Wood Memorial was not provided for either game.

PCMS girls fall to Trojans

The Princeton Community Middle School girls’ basketball teams dropped a pair of games Monday night.

The seventh-grade team trailed 18-2 at the half and could never recover in a 39-8 setback at Wood Memorial.

Amber Carter scored all eight points for the Lady Tigers.

The eighth-grade game was more competitive, with PCMS dropping a 27-20 decision.

Wood Memorial carried a slim 11-9 lead at the half and 18-17 heading into the final quarter.

Kiara Banks led PCMS with nine points, while Alexa Mayer added four points in the loss.

No information was provided for Wood Memorial.

Both PCMS teams will be back in action on Thursday when they travel to Vincennes Rivet.

Elites drop pair of games

Vincennes Clark got the best of the Haubstadt boys seventh and eighth grade basketball teams Monday night.

Clark edged the Elites’ seventh-grade team 31-29, while the visitors won the eight-grade game, 43-25.

In the seventh grade game, Haubstadt was led by Seth Parsons’ double-double of 13 points and 10 rebounds.

Connor Wirey added 10 points in the loss, while Mitchell Giles finished with four points.

A last second game-tying shot caromed off the rim as time expired as the Elites fall to 3-1 on the season.

Gabe Bryant netted 17 points for the Haubstadt eighth graders. Two of his six made buckets on the night came from beyond the 3-point arc.

Bryany also hauled in five rebounds in the loss.

Lucian Wicker hit four free throws, while Eli Maikranz added three points.

The Elites fall to 0-4 on the season.
