FORT BRANCH -- The only way the Gibson Southern softball team has been stopped, of late, has been by Mother Nature.
That trend continued Saturday, as the Lady Titans improved to 19-1 on the season with a 9-0 win over Pocket Athletic Conference foe Pike Central.
Gibson Southern scored a single tally in the home half of the first inning before taking control of the game with five more tallies in the second inning.
Hannah Long and Colby Rogers recorded back-to-back run-scoring hits for a 4-0 lead before freshman Brenna Blume smacked her eighth longball of the season to cap the five-run frame.
Kat Dickenson finished the game 3-for-3 at the plate, while Long, Lauren Lingafelter and Emilee Edwards all wrapped out two hits in part of the Lady Titans 13-hit attack at the plate.
Lyndsi Adamson pitched the first six innings inside the circle to earn the win.
The southpaw allowed just two hits and fanned four batters.
Olivia Stunkel tossed a perfect seventh inning with one strikeout to end the game.
Gibson Southern played host to Tell City on Monday.
