FORT BRANCH — In a battle of inter-county rivals, the Gibson Southern Lady Titans (10-3) protected their home court taking down the Princeton Lady Tigers (7-3) 53-40.
The Lady Titans jumped out to a 13-10 lead after the first quarter and never looked back as they outscored Princeton 21-9 in the second quarter to take a commanding 34-19 halftime lead that would prove too much for the Lady Tigers to overcome.
Senior Kamryn Miller and freshman Choley Graham led the way for the Lady Titans as Miller scored a game-high 19 points that included 10 points in the second quarter.
Graham added 15 points in the victory, while Laynie Graham scored nine points and both Taylor Hart and Carson Kruse added four.
Senior Hannah Sisk led the way for the Lady Tigers, dropping 13 points, while junior Cortney Dove added 12, including five first quarter points.
Gibson Southern improved to 10-3 with the win and is now an impressive 6-1 in Pocket Athletic Conference play. They’ll be back in action Wednesday when they play host to Jasper.
The Lady Tigers fell to 7-3 with the loss as they dropped their second straight game. They are now 3-2 in PAC play and will return to the floor Thursday at Tiger Arena for a rivalry matchup with Wood Memorial.
