Moore signs with OCU

Tecumseh High School graduate Clay Moore signs his letter of athletic commitment to Oakland City University, honoring the support of his high school coach Steve Clutter, who passed away July 24. “Coach Clutter was my biggest supporter and always pushed me to be better. He was and is my motivation to be the best I can be,” Moore said. Moore was Clutter’s first signed collegiate runner. His signing with OCU’s cross country team was postponed, after COVID-19 canceled his senior track season. “We were really disappointed about this track season. I was really looking forward to running on our new track and hopefully setting some new records before I left.” He joins his older sister Summer and the rest of the OCU cross country team after meeting the team and touring the campus. Moore will study biotechnology. “We are grateful to have as good of a person as Clay on the team this year,” said Coach Audrey Sparks, pictured with Moore. “He is motivated and positive and I am eager for him to spread that positivity around. It will be great to see what he is capable of achieving at the collegiate level.”
