PRINCETON — Jace Jenkins connected for six three-pointers Monday night en route to scoring 25 points for Coach Jan Ballard’s eighth grade Tigers in a 58-48 first-round Pocket Athletic Conference tournament win over North Posey Monday in Princeton.

Jacobi Wilkerson connected for another three-pointer in a hot shooting night for the Princeton Community Middle School squad.

Chase Dyehouse scored 12 points, Jarod Dunkel 14 points and Rhine Wilhite and Christian Mowery each added 5 points.

“We played well,” Ballard said. “With seven threes, we didn’t miss very many shots. It was a beaut!”

The Tigers took a 50-21 lead into the fourth quarter, when Ballard pulled the starters.

His 10-3 team meets Heritage Hills at Princeton in the next round at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, looking for a chance at finals action at Southridge Saturday morning.

“We’ll have our hands full Thursday,” said Ballard. “They’ve got an eighth grader who can dunk with consistency. It’s not a fluke. If we get that one Thursday, that’s a great win for us.”
