Gibson County will be well represented at both Friday’s IHSAA Boy’s State Track Meet and Saturday’s Girls State Meet at Ben Davis High School in Indianapolis.

Friday’s boy’s meet will see Princeton Community standout Cole Hurt participate in the 300M hurdles.

Hurt won a regional title at Princeton Community both individually and with his team and then earned a regional championship at Evansville Central last Thursday.

He will be heading back to Indianapolis this fall as he has signed on to run track and play football for the University of Indianapolis Greyhounds.

On Saturday, all three local high schools will be represented.

Wood Memorial’s Josie Page who won both regional and sectional titles in the high jump will make the trip north to Indianpllois after a stellar freshman season for the Lady Trojans.

Gibson Southern will send Ava Weisheit to participate in the discus after her third-place finish at regionals as well as their 4x800 m relay team of Courtney Heldt, Raegan Heldt, Olivia Pennington and Taylor Hart.

Finally, Princeton Community will also send their relay team of Laci Spore, Heidi Meade, Haley Meade and Lexi Smith. Spore will also participate in the 120M dash.
