Both the Gibson Southern Titans and Lady Titans cross country teams put together a fifth-place finish at Saturday's 5000 meter run at the Pike Central Invitational in Petersburg. 

Boys Race

Alex Spindler paced the Titans' efforts in the boys' race as he placed a team-best 16th out of 198 male runners with a time of 17:32.13. 

Lucas Kissel finished 36th for Gibson Southern, Isaac Pohl finished 39th, Ethan Spindler placed 51st, Johnathon Spindler finished 57th, Lucian Wicker placed 90th and John Burnor finished 102nd.

Abe Eckman of Jasper won the boys' race with a time of 15:49.80.

Girls Race

The Lady Titans were paced by Courtney Heldt, who finished a team-best 12th out of the 87 female runners. She posted a time of 20:59.36

 Olivia Pennington finished 25th for Gibson Southern, Elizabeth Steckler finished 31st, Aleah Rexing finished 45th, Aleks Parmer finished 55th, Payton Stocker finished 59th and Helen Kiesel finished 64th to round out the Lady Titans performance.

Pike Central's Xavery Weisman won the girls' race by posting a time of 19:20.63.
